This sequence of three photographs was supplied to me by the mother-in-law who lived in the Greenford area of Middlesex during World War II. The photos are relatively rare in showing a standard civil type air raid shelter being demolished by a wrecking ball attached to the jib of a mobile crane. The Greenford area was a prime target for aerial bombing due to its close proximity to both central London and RAF Northolt.
